Frigiti Tori, wat vertaald uit het Surinaams vergeten verhalen betekent, is een verhalenproject over de eerste generatie Surinaamse ouderen in Amsterdam.
Op 13 november kun je komen luisteren naar de verhalen van de storytellers en Surinaamse a capella zang, en deelnemen aan een spel over de waterwegen in Suriname en Nederland.
De participatiezaal van de tentoonstelling De Gouden Koets wordt omgetoverd tot een Caribische omgeving, met Surinaamse zitzakken en een bronzen korjaal (Surinaamse boot). De korjaal heeft een opmerkelijke bijdrage geleverd aan de economische ontwikkeling van Suriname en doet dat nog steeds. De waterwegen in Suriname en Nederland fungeren als toegangspoorten tot beide landen, in zowel het verleden als het heden. Via een houten spel leg je een reis af met de beste route naar je bestemming, waarbij de helpende en belemmerende factoren uit de verhalen van de deelnemers een rol spelen. Frigiti Tori, which translated from Suriname means forgotten stories, is a story project about the first generation of Surinamese elderly in Amsterdam.
On November 13 you can come and listen to the stories of the storytellers and Suriname acappella singing, and participate in a game about the waterways in Suriname and the Netherlands.
The participation hall of the exhibition De Gouden Koets is being transformed into a Caribbean environment, with Surinamese beanbags and a bronze korjaal (Surinamese boat). The canoe has made a remarkable contribution to the economic development of Suriname and still does. The waterways in Suriname and the Netherlands act as gateways to both countries, both past and present. Via a wooden game you make a journey with the best route to your destination, in which the helping and hindering factors from the stories of the participants play a role.
